Commercial Glass for Georgia Businesses: A Johns Creek Restaurant Project

Oct 9
3 min read

Apex Glass Industries fabricated and installed a commercial glass counter partition system with a specially designed serving opening for a restaurant in Johns Creek, Georgia. Every commercial job starts with understanding the business that will use the finished installation. A restaurant counter shows why: the glass has to fit the room, and it also has to work with how people serve across it.

Glass partition panels run along the restaurant’s service counter, held in place with stainless-steel mounting hardware. The counter sets the layout. Its length, its start and end points, and the conditions around it decide how the panels are arranged.

Commercial glass has to fit what is already built and the business that is already running around it. That is a different starting point from a new home, where the opening is often still being finished.

A Specially Fabricated Opening for Food Service

A glass partition along a service counter is only useful if food and orders can cross it. For that reason, one panel has a serving opening fabricated into it. The corners of the opening are rounded, and the glass edges are polished smooth.

Rounded corners are part of the shape the glass is cut to, and polished edges matter on glass that staff and customers handle every day. A precision-fabricated serving opening also has to be right before the glass is made, since a cutout can’t be adjusted on site afterward. Its position and size are set from the field measurements and the way the restaurant actually serves.

From Field Measurements to Installation

Apex handled the project from measurement through fabrication and installation. The work started with a review of the existing counter and the conditions around it, then measurements of the service area. From those, the panel configuration was established, including the location of the serving opening, and the glass was prepared for fabrication.

Apex then installed the panels and mounting hardware inside the restaurant.

Working With the People Behind Georgia Businesses

A restaurant owner has put a great deal into the place: the property, the equipment, the staff, and the details that make the customer experience work. The glass is one part of that investment.

Our responsibility is to understand that part and complete it professionally. We appreciate the opportunity to work with Georgia business owners and be trusted with a part of the places they’ve worked so hard to build.

That applies to restaurant owners and operators, small business owners, commercial general contractors, architects and interior designers, and retail and hospitality developers. On a commercial job, a glass company’s work reflects on everyone who hired it.
